So, Morte got himself kidnapped. I went and talked to that stupid mage guy and now he wants a skull. I acquired both that NPC rat dude's head for him and Soego's.

The problem is: When I speak to the wizard guy(that can perma-kill you, lol) I only get "Not Yet" as a dialogue option when he asks if I have his replacement skull.

Anybody ever heard of this problem?

Have you tried dropping one of the skulls? I may be mis-remembering, but I do seem to recall reading about that as a known bug at some point...

EDIT: Nope, Try dumping either of them and I get the same thing.

I hope Morte isnt necessary to complete the game, is he?

you supposed to get a skull from a huge tomb in drowned nation. did you do that?

Yeah you havta head down the stairs and then go east to an empty coffin. When you go back to the wizard he will ask for a replacement and then you can dump the dustmans head.

going to your tomb in the drowned nations and NOT finding a skull is a part of this quest.
I had the same problem, went to the tomb and presto I could turn in a skull.

I'm pretty stuck here, I think Morte is carrying Soego's head which is going to make things difficult. Is there another skull I can grab instead?

I think you can use the silent king's.

Silent King's, Mantouk's, Akasta's, Hargrim's.
Also, Morte's belongings should be waiting for you at the point where he was kidnaped.
