I am in the undead place and cannot leave. I remember last time I played the game that I went over to the door with the rats in it and forced it open. I now have a thief that has high lock pick skill (no sledgehammers) and every time I click thieving on that door, N.O. just runs over to it but doesn't try and fix it. I am only with morte and don't want to go back. Is this seriously how this is gonna go down?

Wait, are you trying to bash the door down, or are you using the "thief skills" talent to try to pick the lock? Also, which "undead place" are you at? There are quite a few after all... are you in the Mortuary, the Mausoleum, or the Catacombs/Dead Nations?

Im in the dead nations and this is indeed a bug. N.O. won't lock pick the door but will lock pick and open a chest. Isn't there another way of getting on hargrimm the skeleton guys good side? I just want to leave this place, Ive done everything else.

Wait, which door are you trying to pick? As to getting on the good side of the Dead Nations, if you have killed the cranium rats and unmasked the spy, then Hargrimm should be much more willing to speak to the Silent King on your behalf.

No I havent gotten through the door to the cranium rats. I have been unable to lockpick it with my thief. That is what is the problem. I already exposed the spy. This is hopeless. I think this game is majorly bugged. If I cant get past this part without ridiculous trouble, then this game isnt worth the time.

Door to the cranium rats? Um, the door I *think* you are thinking of leads to the Warrens of Though (in which case, you are probably in the Drowned nations), which to my knowledge can't be picked so early on, and, more importantly, you do not need to get through in order to appease the Dead Nations. Hargrimm mentions that the problem that concerns him is cranium rats that have actually made their way into the Dead Nations; try looking around the Dead Nations themselves and see if you can find any (try looking near a caved in area to the western part of the map). Don't get me wrong, kudos for trying to take out the problem at the source, but having gone to the Warrens of Thought and trying to take on Many as One for the hell of it, I feel secure in saying that if Hargrimm ever tried to send PCs in to do so, he would be manifesting some kind of death wish as those who survived would quickly return and tear him limb from limb.

If you are looking for an easier solution, remember that the Dead Nations are only holding you prisoner until you die; if you were to die and get back up, though, they would totally be cool with you since they would take this to mean you are now an undead like they are.

The cranium rats are in a western corridor and it isn't locked. It's a corridor without doors. Just look at the map and go west, it's a corridor, and the cranium rats you have to kill spawn there. Make sure you explore the area thoroughly.

The door to the exit is located in the south, and the south-western door next to it cannot be unlocked with lockpicking unless you help Hargrimm, and you don't need them unlocked in order to get on his good side. After you help him with the spy, and after killing the cranium doors they get unlocked automatically.

And the game isn't bugged. If you apply the recommended community fixes without the widescreen mod and the ui mod, it's actually pretty bug-free.

So the game is actually bugged. Don't get me wrong, I've looked at the community fixes, and they seem to do a lot of good, but that doesn't change the fact that the game has bugs (which, granted, are not the source of the problem here), much like many of the other games run under the Infinity engine. It's still an otherwise great game that manages to overcome the bugs.

Well im glad that I was wrong about which door. I figured it was the games fault. I was actually hoping the fault was my own rather the games, then I would be screwed. I was just worried and wanted to make sure that I couldnt play and get through the game without a MAJOR problem. Thanks both of you for your understanding. Im glad I am in the wrong as I really do want to finish this game.

No problem :) Only major bug to beware of is the fact that the penalty to hit imposed by Ice Knife lasts until death instead of what the spell description says.
