1) When asking for saves, state which mods you have installed, if any - or there are going to be compatibility issues.
2) I believe you can actually edit a save file with NearInfinity to fix the problem. The variable that controls the portal is "Regret" (global, set in Trias's dialogue); you could check its value in the save and set it to 1 if it's still 0 for whatever reason. Not sure if it'll work right away or you'll need to leave and reenter the area. And if you haven't left the area after the fight, you can probably use the autosave for that purpose.
(This is actually curious: in a normal playthrough, if you kill Trias before he gives you the information, it's game over. Yet, in this case, the game doesn't realize you've somehow missed setting that variable. What's more, I was sure that Qwinn's Fixpack prevented such situation from occuring, but apparently it's not the case if you lose access to the dialogue while Trias is still alive. Hmm.)
