But what is the real use of CHR? There is a dialogue option with Pharod (need 14), you can fake your death for XP (need 12 I think) and nothing else till very end where you can cast two friends to get all the CHR you need. Yes it gets you a discount but money isn't an issue is it?

So wouldn't WIS 18, DEX 13 (lets you do all thief XP stuff and snap necks), CON 14 (nice initial HP bonus and let's you easily survive first few fights), INT 12 (and bump this up with first few levels) get you almost all the early quests and XP?
To everyone who keeps talking about the necessity of CHA, two words:

Friends Spell.

Maximize it for convenience.
I just finished PS:T other day in a fighter way, now I'm playing it with a mage, and I have to say, with the same starting stats, it's easier for me with mage. My starting stats were STR 9, DEX 9, CON 9, IN 17, WIS 18, CHR 13. In Planescape dialog options are everiything, this way you get them all, as much as I can remember.
