This is due to OS X 10.11's new Rootless security feature which breaks Wineskin (which is used to run Planescape: Torment and a bunch of other games GOG distributed games for Mac or expect to see this problem in other places).

I filed a bug with GOG on this matter.

Fundamentally you can either disable the security feature (disabling security tends not to be a great idea) or wait till a solution presents itself (hopefully soon).

Should you wish to disable Rootless, as well as gain a deeper understanding of the cause you can read this:

Thank you for doing this, I've had the same problem.
I believe this has been fixed with the latest version of Wineskin.

As a temporary fix, until GOG release an update, you can try the following:

Navigate to your Applications folder and right-click on the "Planescape Torment" application then select "Show package contents". In the window that appears, navigate to the following folder: Contents>Resources>game. You should see a "Planescape Torment" item here. Again, right-click this icon and select "Show package contents". In the window that appears double-click the "Wineskin" icon.

This will open the Wineskin interface. Click 'Advanced' and then click the 'Set screen options' button. In the 'Other options' panel make sure 'Use Mac driver instead of X11' is checked. Click 'done' and then close the Wineskin window.

There may be unexpected quirks to using the Mac driver, however the game appears to function correctly here.

Hi,

Please download the updated Planescape: Torment Mac DMG file we put up today :) Look for the number "2.0.0.9" in the file name, that is the latest version we have and it should fix whatever problem you are currently experiencing :)
Hi. I'm having this same issue with Lord of the Realms 2. Just downloaded the latest version 2.0.0.2 - no luck.
I'm having this error on Atlantis: The Lost Tales. I tried the steps listed for the Planescape Torment fix, but that did not resolve the issue.
