I'm super-glad we finally got a mac port of System Shock 2. But i've been dying for a port of Ps:T since i was probably about 18 and remembered how much i loved this game as a kid. Would love to see it ported, shouldn't be too hard in this day and age...right?
You could try GemRB but it is currently not possibly to finish the game with it

I second this!
I starving to buy it, but the mac port is missing :( :(
I would love to play through torment again but I moved to macs a few years ago!
problem with a port I see is with the mods, bug fixes, HD and font fixes which I don't want to miss ... same reason why I don't play Fallout on my Macbook =/
PsT plays very well in Wine.

TheCycoONE: PsT plays very well in Wine.
I wouldn't say very well. There's an annoying cursor glitch (although that might be due to the widescreen mod I have, IDK) and it crashes on occasion. But it works well enough.

There are crashing bugs in windows relating to the widescreen mod so it might be that, though I didn't run into any crashes myself. I recall having a cursor glitch when I first started but it went away with an update - worth trying in wine 1.6 if that's not what you are using.
You can play Planescape easily under wine, as I am right now. I suggest you get the wrapper from paulthetall.com. When you double click the wrapper, click install software and then select the planescape installer exe that you downloaded from GOG.

I have my planescape modded as well, all done though my mac. To install mods do this (assuming you installed it like I said)->

1. Right click your planescape app and click on 'Show Package Contents"

2. Open up "Wineskin" from there

3. Select "Install software"

4. Select the mod exe that you want to install

That's all there is to it. Let me know if you have any questions or need something cleared up

I got it working with Paul the Tall's wine wrapper, but i'm having trouble with the mods you mentioned. everytime i do what you say it says the exe can't be run or it can't find the appropriate path.

not sure what i'm doing wrong. i tried with 3 different mods, went to the install software, and it's all "nope"

You aren't doing anything wrong. I forgot and left out a few more instructions that I remember I had to do. Do this (this is for widescreen and ghost dog UI):

1. Get the porting team wrapper at http://portingteam.com/files/file/7181-planescape-torment/

This wrapper I used just to install the game and to install the mods (paul the talls wont let you install mods)

2. Right click the wrapper; Show Package Contents. Navigate through C:/Program Files/GOG.com/Planescape Torment/. Place your MOD exe's into this location

3. Close finder window. Right click wrapper and select Show Package Contents once again. Open Wineskin from there.

4. Click on Advanced (not Install Windows Software)

5. Up at the top theres a section called Windows EXE with a path to torment.exe. Click the browse button and select the mod you want to install by going to Program Files -> GOG.com -> Planescape Torment (e.g. setup-widescreen.exe)

6. Close wineskin and run double click the wrapper to run it. Let the mod install and then go back to step 3 and rinse and repeat until all the mods you want to install are installed.

7. Unfortunately I couldn't get this wrapper to run the actual game so I simply copied GOG.com folder from inside the the Port Team wrapper (right click the wrapper and navigate through C -> Program Files to find GOG.com folder) and then copied it to paul the tall's wrapper. Just right click paul the talls wrapper and navigate to Program Files and then paste all the files there.

8. Right Click paulthetall's wrapper and open up Wineskin

9. Click on Advanced and up at the top at Windows EXE, click the browse button and select torment.exe

10. Close all windows and double click paulthetalls wrapper to run the game, all modded up

Good luck and let me know if you run into any snags.

For reference, here is a good guide to the mods: http://thunderpeel2001.blogspot.com/2009/01/planescape-torment-fully-modded.html

There is a guide I wrote to install Planescape on Linux.
It might work on Mac OS too if you have Wine installed.
