Dear community!
First, please forgive me for possible mistakes, my English is far from perfect.
Second, I've encountered a nasty game bug and have absolutely no idea how to fix it.
Help me resolve the following situation: so I got this portal cube right after reaching the shop that sells it. I used it once right after the purchase just to see what it does. And than I set it aside for a while. Now I'm in the final part of the game, wondering around the city and getting ready for the final showdown. I've tried to use the portal once again multiple times but the game keeps crashing right after I press the last dialog option in that dialog screen. Crash report says that the application has encountered an unexpected error or something like that. I've tried activating this item in different locations, tried checking it in older save files but the outcome is always the same. I'd try re-installing the game if I knew how to back up my save files.
So I'm hoping that you will help me.

I cant help you with the crash but i can direct you to the save folder. Under where you installed Torment, probably somewhere GOG Games\Planescape Torment there is a "save" folder. Just copy that folder to somewhere else. Inside it you will see your individual save folders like 000000-Auto-Save etc. Also, while uninstalling a game, GOG offers you to keep the save files.

EDIT: I am sorry, I didnt see that it was for MAC. I explained for PC. Maybe it can give you some idea tho.

Mac saves, IIRC, are supposed to be stored in the user folder (something like ~/Library/Application Support/GOG.com/Planescape Torment/Save).

On Windows, deleting everything in the "Cache" subfolder sometimes solves area-entrance crash issues, but I don't know if this works on other systems, let alone where this folder would be in a Mac installation.
