Hey,

I just downloaded the game and got no sound. I'm using Arch Linux with KDE.

Anyone know what I could do to get sound working with current Arch and PST in its current form? (I say this because some folders and files mentioned in the solutions from other threads do not exist anymore and i can't seem to find the equivalent)

Thanks for help in advance!

Double posting issue:
If your add or edit post screen freezes after you pressed "Post my message", just reload the page and it will appear, & then just exit your post.

Hope this helps

Alright, good to know.

The link you posted is the thread I was referring to in the OP. All linux-sound-related threads on this board are outdated with the new wine structure in the PS:T Linux version, so that doesn't help me unfortunately. :/

Sorry not much of a linux user.
Linux isn't much of a friend with games.
Same thing, checked those already.

Thanks for mentioning them though! :)

Hi Edwardlol,

I removed your duplicate thread.

Are you trying to run Planescape Torment: Enhanced Edition, or the classic version? In first case, you need to install libopenal1, in the second case, install your local Wine package to satisfy all Wine dependencies.

And sorry for the late response!

Hey, thanks for the response, all good. :)

For everybody in the same situation I was in and searching for a solution, I'll say what worked for me real quick:

Install the packages:

lib32-alsa-lib
lib32-alsa-plugins
lib32-libpulse

The third one was the culprit for it being quite the hassle for me, since it's not usually mentioned anywhere if you search for similar problems on the net. In most cases for audio in old applications the first two seem to suffice. I encountered the third completely randomly in search for the solution for another problem, heh.

Cheers
