I loved this game because it was so fun to savor the story and dialog, but the one thing I either missed or neglected was why in his flashback to when he saved Dakkon the TNO seemed to covet Dakkon's weapon rather then Dakkon himself.

I figured maybe he intended to use its reality shaping properties to destroy the Universe as a way to avoid his inevitable punishment, a gesture that would kind of be the exact opposite of a selfless sacrifice.

But I never figured it out.
TNO's incarnation that "saved" Dak'kon does explicitly mention the blade's potential capacity of destroying the multiverse; however, it's just meant to be a description of how powerful it really is, nothing more. His actual goal was merely to defeat his "enemy" in the Fortress of Regrets, the entity that was clearly trying to kill him; so he went all "crazy prepared", and acquiring an insanely powerful weapon was part of that plan.

He never bothered to learn the nature of his "enemy" though, so the plan failed.

My mistake, I just finished the game and I was paying attention this time, but thank you!
