I recently purchased this game and want to do the mods in the guide on this games main page. im at stage 2 of the guide so far and ran the game to test it but i get mouse trails on the title screen and when i start the game characters and anything interactive (tables, doors etc) go all flickery with weird shapes etc. ive attached pics of menu screens but when i try to screencap gameplay it looks normal.

Thanks in advance :)

I suppose you're using Windows 7? Can also try running the game in XP compatibility mode.
hi, I think ive fixed it. i had a problem with mousetrails etc on jagged alliance 2 awhile back and someone said to turn crossfire off in catalyst control centre. I thought it was still off. Thought it may have been a bigger problem lol. Thanks anyway :)

I HIGHLY recommend the fix mentioned there using DLLs unpacked from wine3d.exe. Completely resolved all issues I had (the main one being utter slowdown when performing spells, but issues with hardware mode in general).

I had a problem with extreme slowdowns and weird artifacts on the screen when casting spells. Since I want to be a mage, you can understand how frustrating it would become eventually. The solution in the link neant posted seems to have solved my problem
For me I'm having a different issue with the game graphics the whole game is smearing pretty badly is there anything i can do to fix this?
