Unmodded, this game runs instantly, but upon modding anything - be that the 2 widescreen/interface mods, the other 3 or all of them together, I have to wait several minutes before I go past black screen into the intro (after that game runs fine, but it happens again upon exiting the game).

Does anyone have a clue why is that happening? I've tried reinstalling the game and mods already, but nothing seems to work. It is weird because I can't even alt+tab/ctrl+alt+delete out (upon choosing task manager I have about 1 second before screen goes black). The game only closes instantly when it crashes.

My OS: Win 7 Pro x64.
Technically I can play this game, but it's so annoying having to wait about 15 minutes before being able to play.

Have you tried to see which mods are causing the problem? My recommendation is to start over with new install, apply widescreen mod (see it if runs ok), apply ghostdog UI (see if it runs), etc.

Have you tried a different resolution?
Well, at first I've tried only PST ultimate fix etc. ones. Then I reinstalled (and deleted leftovers of mods) and applied only widescreen and interface ones. My last one was all mods at once. No matter what it still happens. I haven't tried all of them separately yet, but my modding attempts suggest there are at least 2 out of those 5 that cause it.

Maybe somehow those mods are not entirely compatible with 64-bit OS and it causes this weird occurence? All I know is that the first run after modding I could see my antivirus briefly flash before screen went dark. But after that I've added torment.exe to both my antivirus and firewall exclusions.

Also once just before black screen went into intro, I could see small white box in the middle of the screen. And once upon exiting the game I've got some message about 16 bit colors or something, not sure.
I run the game fine on win7 x64, no special permissions or compatibility modes. I would note that you really shouldn't install the game to program files dir due to UAC.

I would test the game with just fixpack/tweak/UB and see if you still get the freezes. You really shouldn't, I can't see why anything in that would cause it.

It could be your AV, have you tried to disable it before launching PST to see if thats the issue? Firewall shouldn't be issue, PST doesn't have any networking or inet.
