After the brand new update on the Mac version of Planescape: Torment, when I launch the game and choose Resume Life, there is nothing there. I managed to track the actual save game files down and just in case back them up, so they are still there, but the program can't access them.

They are located under Planescape Torment/Contents/Resources/game/Planescape Torment/Contents/Resources/drive c/Gog Games/Planescape Torment/save

Probably unrelated, I just noticed that the program that launches is called Planscape Torment without the e. It might have been like that before the update, might not.

It is a bug that has been already corrected. Download the latest version (GOG-13).
Gog Galaxy says that the game has been updated five hours ago, and I also tried the verify/repair function which did a bit of downloading and stuff, but the saves are still not there. So do I need to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work?
Ok, I accidentally stumbled into the save game folder in Library/Application Support/Gog.com/Planescape Torment. It was empty, so I pasted the save game folders there, and now it sort of works. But there is a very curious bug: I have four saves at the moment, and when launching the game Finder throws save folders 2-4 into the save folder 1, making only one save accessible in the game. I tried leaving only the most current save in the folder and starting the game with that, with the idea that maybe making new saves would get around the problem, but it still happens. Only one save at a time is accessible and others are thrown in the working save folder.

I think I'll try reinstalling the game from the beginning.

...and now it works.
