So, after Morte was kidnapped by Lothar's were-rat crew, I figured I'd buzz about for a while and finish up a few quests before getting him back.

Unfortunately it seems it won't be possible with some as some of the items I had him carry are completely gone. I've only noticed this as I tried to deliever the box to Brasken and it's in none of my parties inventory. I haven't dropped it or sold it either. Thinking perhaps as a quest item it would still be with Morte, I did the quest for Lothar to get him returned only to find his inventory empty.

Has anyone any idea / solution as to what to do? - Or am I going to have to rewind to a much earlier save (presuming I have a viable one)?

Okay, this gets weirder - seems when i picked up the stuff Morte dropped when he was kidnapped, the box was opened somehow and I have Moridor's ruby in my inventory now instead - yet the box quest is still open. Guess I'll have to backtrack.

Ah... after much research it seems the problem is purely to do with leaving the HIve area - whereby the box opens itself or something.
This will be a lot of backtracking it seems.

Also very weird - answering my own problem. hope it don't break GOG.

If I remember correctly, Morte drops all the items he was carrying before getting kidnaped. Go to Lower Ward's Gate (where the rats appeared) and search there.

Cheers - but as I've discovered (see above) the box opened somehow after I left the hive - hence I have Moridor's ruby. Doesn't explain the borken quest hanging there though!

Perhaps is a bug :\
At least you have the ruby. You gonna need it for a quest.

Aye - I just hate the open / broken quest hanging there - mocking me!... like Morte!
