Just installed the game after owning it for a few years used to work fine...

but now it flickers and flashes and resolution seems to be shrunk to 800x600 on start up... not sure what to do, running latest windows 10.

If it worked fine a few years ago, then this is a windows 10 problem. Did you try running it in XP-SP3 or Vista compatibility mode?
