I've just got to the evil wizard construct and am having quite some difficulty beating him. My party isn't that amazing, so my idea is to micromanage the hell out of this battle, which is especially important because of all the extra constructs running around and pwning my party.

My plan I've been trying has been to send Dakon, and Nordom to get in to combat with the evil wizard. Have Morte tank and pull the other constructs around the room, and Annah to pull some others around a bit. The nameless one (mage), and fall from grace get near to the construct and rain down some spells, and healing. However this is my first time playing a crpg and the micromanaging is very new to me (only similar game I've played has been baldurs gate dark alliance on the ps2!).

Party stats: Namless One, mage, level 10; Morte level 8; Dakon level 8; Annah level 8; Fall from Grace level 8 and Nordom level 8
Prebuffing is very useful in the game, read the spell descriptions. It's important that you cast those buffs in the right order and use the pause key so that the buffs don't expire too early.
You can start with casting "power of one" at everyone and use save/reload to enforce getting the maximum strength boost.

You're very low level for this fight, if you can't win it now you can return when your party is more experienced.

Have Morte use his taunt on the wizard. That will prevent him from casting. Insect swarm will also prevent casters from casting.

Alternatively you could grind the constructs in other rooms of the maze to gain some extra levels. That's pretty boring though and only worth it if some chars are close to their next level.
Cheers for the replays, what I've decided to do is leave the area, and go back to undersigil. Where I'll grind and practise my strategy of large groups of larval worms.

Heh, my NO was also 10lvl mage. I have been killed during this battle (also with dakkon as I remember). So my advice is: Use your immortality while you still can :-).
Have Morte taunt on the wizard, cone of cold constructs, then whack them down while they are frozen. Then kill the wizard.
