I just installed Planescape Torment and a dos box came up installing a bunch of stuff. I started the game and it appears to be in widescreen. Is this new?

The "widescreen" is probably just your videocard stretching the image instead of keeping it at 4:3. You still have to mod the game to make it widescreen. The DOSBOX window, IIRC, is from ddrawfix, which is installed automatically with the game.

PS:T is a Windows game and won't even run under DOSBOX

...I phrased it wrong, obviously. :) We're talking about the command line window that comes up when mods are installed.
