Zabinatrix: I had the same problem when I went through a list of recommended mods to install. My mistake was that one of the files in the list wasn't a mod but the official patch. I'm guessing that this version is already patched, and fixed so that it doesn't check for a CD, but the official patch will of course include the CD-check.
Maybe you did the same?
Perhaps. I will uninstall the game and redo it. This time I will do the video tweaks as well. I'm getting better at the installation now. Lol. I thought I was careful to avoid doing a patch but I'll give it another try. Thank you.

Well, I finally got this game installed and running. A few comments that others might find helpful. First, the thread dealing with mod installations is extremely helpful. You should use it.
Next, make sure you install the game in a different directory than given by the installer. I am running Windows 7 and it made a difference for me. The installer wants to install in the Programs directory and I believe Windows 7 has a problem with that.
I believe I was getting the disk 2 message due to not properly copying "bif" files to a new subdirectory as described in the mod installation thread. The directions are a little vague with respect to copying bif files to a newly created directory to be named CDALL. The bif files are contained in a subdirectory named data. There should be 188 of these files. There are also bif files contained in the root game directory of Planescape. These are not the files he intended for you to copy. After copying the correct bif files you need to edit the ini configuration file for the game directing the computer to the CDALL subdirectory.
I am now able to run the game with no disk 2 message. Thus far, everything seems to be working properly.
