I remember a part in the game that wasn't explored further. Someone mentions the Lady of Pain and TNO remembers a woman with similar appearance, only she seems attracted to him, or something like that.
One of the things I liked most about this game is how you hear all sorts of legends and tales, and then realize it was actually you who was responsible for them in some way. But I don't recall this memory being elaborated on or put in any other context. Maybe someone saw something I missed?
I'm not entirely sure but I think the *knowing* her is simply because she's been a part of your life for a long time because of all the things you've gone through/times she's actually visited you for things you've done, and the "attraction" is simply because she keeps having reason to come to you so there is a "draw" from you to her.
Where do you get that she was a part of your life and has visited you in the past?
In the game she appears only to casually throw you into a maze - Or, if you start to kill some Dabus, she appears and actually kills you. Permanently kill you, mind you.
In the Planescape "mythology" the Lady of Pain is very special - She is extremely powerful within Sigil, but never interacts directly with people, either she goes through the dabus (who follow her will, but will only answer questions in a cryptic way), and get rid of people creating troubles (maze them, kill them). And everyone in Sigil "knows" about her, she's omnipresent in people's minds, as the ultimate peacekeeper.

So while TNO did mess up with her a bit in some previous incarnations (ending up in a Maze), he never had any "direct" interaction with her, and yes, if you really upset her (like killing dabus), that's the end - Her Serenity Our Lady of Pain definitely has the power to permanently kill an immortal.

Reinforcing this, the writers of the game, in some interview said they didn't want to give stats to the Lady, to avoid the naive idea was possible to kill her. She is even more special than the TNO.

And oddly. this wiki states that this game give something new to her lore:

A theory that appears late in the computer game Planescape: Torment is that the Lady is a prisoner and that Sigil is her cage. This theory is plausible in that its coiner, Ravel Puzzlewell, who would refer to herself as "the solver of puzzles not needing solving", had a level of understanding about the mechanics of the planes incomprehensible by men. Unfortunately (or consequently), she was also insane; whether her insanity set in before or after being "mazed" by the Lady is unknown.
Right, I gathered all of those from the game. What I'm asking about is that specific memory that TNO remembers while she was mentioned to him. What is the context of that memory and how is it related to the Lady of Pain?
Are you saying that that memory was embedded in TNO's mind, and is a representation of *knowing* the Lady of Pain?

Well, it's arguable whether to call it *knowing*, but you can get a memory of Lady of Pain killing The Nameless One. You can get this memory when speaking with Sebastion in the Lower Ward.

Plus one of the previous incarnations was imprisoned in a maze (the same one that you can "visit") by Lady of Pain.

She is a very interesting character.
Depending on your actions, you'll have reasons to hate her guts lol.
I wouldn't complain if she appeared more often.
She's certainly more scary than that generic shadows in the last map... I wish she appeared there, somehow.
