Hi all,
I just wanted to share a fix for graphical glitches with those people who play this game using windowed mode. I'm running the 64-bit version of Windows 7, and I've found that none of the fixes mentioned on the site or forums work as intended unless you also switch your color depth to 16-bit. I haven't tested whether or not this may also help when running the game full-screen, but I suppose it can't hurt.
(The game mentions it has issues playing movies under 32-bit color depth, and it would seem that even with every popular mod installed - as I have - movies aren't the only thing it has issues with.)
Since it's fairly annoying to have to manually switch back and forth between color depths, I'd like to link to a tool that allows you to make changes from a shortcut or batch file: the 12noon Display Changer 4.3.1. You can read up on how to use the program at its official site.
I hope this helps people who have the same issues I had. Shout out to Good Old Games for making available one of the finest RPGs ever made!
Edit: Before I forget - I've been able to stop the game from crashing upon exit ("Planescape: Torment has stopped working", etc.) by running the game using Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5) compatibility mode. You can't use this fix if you use the 12noon Display Changer to launch the game, however - but that's a small price to pay.
