Hi, I've just finished PS:T and at the very end I did not manage to actually use the bronze sphere, given that Practical Incarnation says it is extremely valuable I'm a bit at a loss of how to use it, and why is it valuable? what happens when you use it? (both intelligence and wisdom were maxed by the time I tried to use it - more specifically I tried to use it after absorbing all the other incarnations)

EDIT: to expand a little bit: when I click use I have to choices - 1) examine 2) put away; after I click examine nothing happens and the only option left is to put it away
EDIT 2: I guess what I'm asking for is not so much how to solve the problem, but what happens when you use the sphere?

"After that, Deionarra will appear.

Before talking to her, right click the Bronze Sphere and Use it. Clasp it
and feel regret, then follow this conversation. For this you get the
largest experience bonus in the game:

2,000,000 experience
Symbol of Torment

Talk to Deionarra. If you want to, you can tell her how she died. Tell
her the truth and she should forgive you.

*ALIGNMENT*: Telling her how and why she died is a GOOD and mostly LAWFUL
act.

Ask her to teleport you out and she will."

hmm, so its just an experience bonus :), thanks, I didn't want to miss a chunk of plot - something like a memory TNO would recover or some other story related element, that's why I was a bit worried about the sphere, if its just XP-boost it does not really matter as I didn't fight TTO anyway :)

on a completely unrelated question - is it possible to tell Yves the Tale-Chaser that one tale that she needs? I told her all I could (after finishing all the quests right before going to Fortress of Regrets) and asked companions to do so as well, but none of them was the one she wanted (or at least she never said that any one of them is)

I haven't played for a while but there is a list of stories that you can tell Yves included in Dan Simpsons' FAQ

and thanks again, I told her all of those stories, the one she wants to hear apparently is just impossible to tell, huh, it looks like I have completely finished Planescape Torment with nothing left behind :)

In my opinion, no ending is complete without opening the Bronze Sphere. Apart from the massive XP gain (so much so, in fact, that my character became almost godlike), it answers all of TNO's questions and provides a closure from the roleplaying perspective, although no information is actually disclosed to the player. It is with the help of the Bronze Sphere that TNO learns his true name and the memories of his original incarnation, who got him in that mess in the first place.

oh, I thought, its just exp boost, hmm, I might have a bit older save that I made when I just entered the Fortress of Regrets, I guess I'll just load it up and try to use the sphere again

thanks a lot, time to go to the fortress again :)

EDIT: I reloaded went there and I still cant examine the bronze sphere, even after asking all I can from the other incarnations, were there any other conditions, except for asking the Practical Incarnation and having high intelligence and wisdom, to use the sphere? like maybe having one of the unique eyes?

EDIT 2: I think I figured it out I probably need those demonic eyes I got from Ravel, but the problem is that I no longer have them in any of my saves :-(

Luckily I was wrong I now figured it all out and opened the sphere, thanks everyone for your help, its appreciated :)

And you were right even though no information is revealed to me as a player it did give a sense of closure - just like reviving all of the companions and sending them on their way :)
