I've been playing about 4 hours today of PST and I've encountered 4 BSODs already. I'm currently in the Clerk's Ward doing some talking to people there, I've also been to the Madron Maze (Rubikon) and just now entered UnderSigil.

I don't know what's wrong but since I installed Windows 7 BSODs have been very unusual for me, only ever happening with strange games in particular.

Anyone else experience BSODs with this game and run Windows 7 64-bit?

EDIT: Great. Now whenever I load a save my quest bar arrives immediately like I press the Q button but it arrives even if I turn off my keyboard (wireless). I think my game is screwed somehow. I deleted the temp and cache but still happening.

I managed to do a normal save and the game named it this for some reason "000000005-`7o`````6`o``z````````````````" What the hell is this? I think I will do a reinstall.

EDIT2: Wow, I did a reinstall and the game starts and I can load my saves but the damn issue is still there?! It's like it's my computer for some reason because of these damn BSODs.

What should I do? :(

EDIT3: I rebooted and now it it doesn't pop up but the game suffers performance issues which should be gone considering I have installed drawfix. Also, my hotkeys reset and I'm trying to change them but I can't.

Well it was too good to be true. It's something about the game's hotkeys. I fiddle with them the game just continue to use one button like P for the priest book or Q (I changed from J to Q before) and the journal popped up all the time.

Did you get it sorted then?

If not, you can try to completely uninstall the game and then re-install it. Maybe that will sort whatever is causing this. I'm on Win 7/64 on a laptop and had not problems apart from some game crashes that got sorted with some .exe fixing.
The damn pop up is gone for now but it seems connected to my part of the game, perhaps my saves are corrupted somehow but it doesn't seem like it, I don't know.

I still have performance issues and since playing the game up until this issue arose (which started after Yvana's galleria) I had a flawless experience, at least technically.

EDIT: Yes! I figured it out. Damnit, how could I forget..

The game has an initial frame limit at 40 (who the hell made that?) so I changed that to 60 and turned translucent shadow to 0 as well, now it should run as before. :)

I wonder though what this hotkey issue is I'm having. It could be the modified .exe I received from sciient because it never happened before but it didn't happen right after and it occurs even after I reinstalled and tried start to a new game.

If you have been manually changing ini files or wherever these things are stored, that may well explain some issues. Why don't you just revert back to the default values and go with that? Hotkeys are fine as they are and it's mostly a reading game anyway.

In any case, hope you're able to continue. If you've come to the galleria you've come quite far so won't be cool to start over again. Good luck :)

Oh, you misunderstand. I reinstalled so the ini was at default settings and hotkeys too. While the hotkeys aren't perfect I won't risk messing up my game for it so I will leave them but low performance is a deal breaker for me but everything seems to work now. Indeed, a restart would not have been cool and I'm a bit anxious as I want to finish the game.
