I have a laptop. Nothing unique; Intel i3, ATI laptop card, Dell brand, Windows 7. Everything is patched and up to date.

I have played many games on this laptop without problems. But when I have Planescape Torment playing, I can't close the laptop. When I open it back up, the screen is black. Simply solid black. (Note, the screen is *on,* as I can see the backlight bleeding through, like most LCD screens.) No cursor either. I believe the game is still running, though, as the sound/music is still working.
When I press the "windows" button, the task bar and start menu open, and I can see my cursor when it is hovering over the bar or menu. However, the rest of the screen is black, and my cursor disappears when it is in the black area.
At this point, the only way to close Planescape is to use Task Manager and terminate it.

Has anyone else had this issue, and/or know how to fix it?

...Just save and exit before you close your laptop?

This game is beyond old, and even back when it was new and shiny it was never hailed for being stable. It probably just can't handle the system being suspended like that, and I doubt there's any easy fix.
