I just bought and downloaded this game, I installed all the mods in the stickied Mod guide, and everything is fine so far. However, the sound/music within the game keeps cracking and popping occasionally (every 5-10 seconds or so) and it's quite annoying. I've tried updating/reinstalling the sound driver but that didn't solve the problem. I also tried using different headphones but the problem persisted. It must be an issue with the game itself, since I don't have sound problems with anything else. Anyone else had the same issue? I'm running the game on Windows 7 64-bit.

Still having this issue, is there ANYONE who can help me?
Did you try lowering or disabling hardware acceleration for the sound?

Control panel -> Sounds -> Volume -> Speaker settings -> Advanced -> Performance -> Hardware acceleration
As far as I know, there is no such setting on Windows 7 or on my sound card.
Windows 7 renders everything in DirectX9 or above, so turning off hardware acceleration is not an option. What you *can* try is to turn off Windows Aero and switch to Classic Theme while playing. You could also try running the game in Windows XP compatibility mode.
try editing torment.ini ?
