Do you know some ways to make the game easier?

I'm not the best original RPG's gamer. I love to read and provide dialogues and get into the nuances of the story but my combat skills in older D&D system are just not existing. Is it a way that annihilating the enemies would go smoothier?

For now I'm unable to move the plot further in the way I want it to go because of some undealt fights. And it sucks.
No, there are no cheats you could start using mid-game. Would you care sharing with us what exactly is the problem you're facing? I might be able to help, since I have found quite a few dodgy ways to resolve fights...
There's a combat difficulty slider in the options menu somewhere.

I finish even the easiest fight with a single enemy with max 20% of my HP left. Then I have to recovery for ages and it goes like that.

Ol' right, it might have been the case, I got the slider in the middle. Now I moved it left and we'll see how it works for me on the new settings.
Also... Click Morte, select special abilities and click Litany of Curses, than use it on the enemy. Morte has a crazy armor class, and since enemies will attack him, fights will be easier. Also, enemy that's under influence of this ability runs faster, so you can run away from multiple enemies, use it on one of them, wait 'till he catches up with you, kill him and repeat. Oh and don't bother standing around until you heal, either run from fights or find safe areas

Raise your CON stat. With 9 con you regenerate 1 hitpoint every 60 seconds, each additonal point spent for con let you regenerate hitpoints 5 seconds faster (the bonus hitpoints for high con won't hurt either, if you have double hitpoints damage which brings a normal character down to 20 percent leaves you at 60 percent), if you get con very high you'll even regenerate several hitpoints per round, faster than most foes are able to hurt you.

If you have both low con and low wis restarting with a more powerful character might be the better choice, since you'll need a lot of level ups to become powerful.

Actually low CON is fine. Just rest somewhere if you get hurt (if you can), and load up on needles and bandages. Always remember WIS and INT are the most important stats.
I've had a similar problem. Had no problems up until the dungeon below Curst, then the game started kicking my ass, even with the difficulty turned down & a full party. I only beat Baator by an heroing TNO so I respawned next to the pillar of skulls, then running like a bitch to the exit portal. Canceri wasn't so bad, especially since there was a place to rest, but my strategy has basically been spamming rest areas. Probably doesn't help that my CON is like 9, but all the advice I've gotten has been "disregard CON/STR/DEX, acquire WIS/INT/CHR, you can just talk your way out of most fights".
if you really want to cheat use save editors. i used them twice already as stupid bug destroys vital stuff i needed
There is the Tome 'o Cheats which can be unlocked. There are also several mods which make unlocking this tome easier.

I use a lot of mods but I always found the tome a stupid thing to use and I don't want to sacrifice an inventory slot.

I use "Infinity Engine Savegame Editor" which can be downloaded here:

It's also for Icewind Dale and both Baldur's Gate games.
