Hi,

Did anyone manage to get Pixel Piracy running on Linux? I've tried on Arch 64 and Ubuntu 32 with both the tar archive and the deb file. I every situation, the game crashes just after the "Quadro Delta" intro movie and before the game menu. Am i the only one having troubles?

I got it to start just fine.
However it fails at loading any saved games.
(the ground of any island is missing after I load the save, so any character on the island will instantly fall into the water beneath the island and drown)

-edit- I am running Linux Mint 17 with KDE on 64bit.

It works excellent on Mint 17 Cinnamon 64 bit. I assume Mate is also fine.
There are no errors whatsoever.
Loads are perfect for me.
I have tested both tar and deb.

@bad_habit: could you tell which graphic card you have?

I think this is a graphic drivers issue. I tried to run the game on two VirtualBox VMs with 3D acceleration on. On ubuntu32, the acceleation works and the game crashes at launch. But, on Linux Mint 64, i did not manage to get 3D acceleration working. The game starts well (but incredibly slow) with software rendering.

I'm pretty sure the linux version was tested on NVidia cards :(

hello,

@TheBard.184

i'm on archlinux too and had to delete libstdc++ from the tar.gz,for avoiding the game to crash.

@ChNissen

i had to put "export LC_ALL=C" in the launch script,because i'm french and the dot are replaced by comma with my language so it's corrup your save.
after this,new save are working,but old are still corrupt.

Thanks a lot, that helped. Placed the line just below the loading of the gog.com library.

Kudos for finding the source of that error :)
