Hi all,
When using the mouse the horizontal works fine, but moving vertical seems messed up. Basically a full move of the mouse moves the cursor about 1/4 of the screen. But moving sideways is just fine.

I tried doubling the mouse sensitivity - but obviously makes the sideways movement too fast etc. I also tried changing to direct3d and that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue, the game is running kind of slow too. I Started playing the game for the first time and I won a fencing battle and then afterwards the game lagged when I was taking the cargo from the other ship that I rammed into. There is another post about this already its on the front page of this forum right now just search mouse problems if its not.

For me the game runs faster if I change the file

dosboxPGOLD.conf

which is found in the Pirates! Gold folder and set the output value to OpenGL

output=opengl

The mouse is a bit strange for me as well, I am experiencing similar mouse problems as the OP, but not extremely severe. The mouse does move slower vertically for me. I do not know why this is.
