I just started the game. The intro made it as far as an old woman yelling "Hue" before freezing, going black on both monitors, and then back to my desktop. There was a small Unity window on the primary monitor with what looked like a progress bar but then it also went away. I tried to relaunch the game but it now launches invisible. I can hear the sound effects when I mouse over the invisible controls but I'm looking at my wallpaper.
I'm running a 3GB GTX 1060 on a 1440p primary and 1080p secondary display. Any suggestions are appreciated.
edit:
I rebooted and tried again. It made it through the intro and froze again as I was running down the hill toward the first quest marker. After freezing, it went black on both screens again and then went to desktop. This time the game was still running in that I could WASD and hear the walking sounds, and my mouse pointer was still "in game" but again the game itself was invisible. Also noticed that the GOG Galaxy window looks really old school compared to before the game crashed, like the solid Vista or Win7 theme (see imgur.com/prMgazJ ). Going to try updating graphics drivers next.
edit2:
Updating the nvidia driver worked for me.
edit3:
Worked for a while. Crashed again. Also had to plug in a gamepad to get past battle tutorial's poke attack requirement.
