Tried running this this but the game win 7 64bit , but comes out as all green with giant lettering...

Did you try changing the doxbox configuration? Go to the dosboxXXXX.cfg file and look for the output key. Try different values like ddraw or opengl. You can also change machine key to e.g. vga.

actually solved it myself...by luck

turning off the MLAA (Morphological Anti-Aliasing) option in Catalyst Control Center did the trick...
