Typical ... Just typical ...

There I was,
Happy with a less than average laptop.
Playing classics of yesteryear. With not a day passing with envy of other gamers and their Alien-Ware PCs, playing the latest graphical wonders.
Content.
Safe in the knowledge that I'll not have to upgrade for years.
Saving money.
Feeling mighty cool about puritan gaming needs.
When ...
They go and bring out PILLARS OF ETERNITY.

I don't sleep.
I don't eat wisely.
I try to delude myself by saying 'I don't need it'

But ...

I weep with such sorrow that my tears could melt starlight ( never a good thing )
'State of the art' is simply clever marketese language in the wonderful world of electronics.

:)
It's quite cheap to build your own PC and then upgrade it every so often when you feel the need. I've had the same tower case and coolant fans for 14 years (did add one 7 years ago), and a couple old hard drive that are now storage drives. You don't need to buy everything that is the newest tech. when you do it, either. Get an older i7, get a GeForce 500 or 600 series, get 12GB ram for cheap, get a good power source, get a good motherboard that you can upgrade into if you need (I like the ASUS P6T SE still.)

Alien-Ware is just commercial BS and doesn't necessarily run games better than other brands (though certainly, some brands are better than others.)
well, regarding alien-ware:

as that dude states in the video, buying separate items instead of a pre-built pc is much cheaper, and building a pc yourself isn't hard with the tons of info around the interwebz, it's also fun and educational, you really do learn alot
Whatever the official requirements say, PoE is NOT a demanding game. I can tell, I run it on a 2 years old laptop with Intel's Ivy Bridge Core i5 3317u and its integrated HD4000-graphics part which is a sorry excuse for a GPU. Works flawlessly, doesn't even stutter badly (in 1366x768p).
Thanks guys.
I only have a 1007u@1.5 GHz.
I might give it a whirl.
If it doesn't run, I'll just have to get something better.
At some point ... I have to play this game :)
