I will wait for patches but it doesn't have to be "to perfection" and that's not even the whole of the reason for waiting. It's not like I NEED to play it ASAP for any reason, something this complex will just get more polished and I have enough things to distract my time with (especially with spring coming, maybe I will even wait until next fall/winter to play PoE) that it's no sweat to wait at least 3-4 months or before getting to it. I'm really psyched to play it, but, I can temper that and get back to it whenever it comes to me after some time has gone by and some patches have been released. I've won/been gifted a handful of games in the past few weeks, so I have accumulated a bit more in my backlog of things I've really been wanting to get to and will gladly focus my game time on them and not think too much on PoE for a while (after this intiial excitement of the release/figuring out what character I'm going to play!)

Depends on the bugs. Some have said that so far the game is relatively stable with few bugs. Though there are some with problems of course. I think the traditional non-kickstarter model means games would usually ship before they were ready because the funders demanded it. But Obsidian deliberately decided to spend more time on this game.
Crashing repeatedly on loading screens. The game is enjoyable but at this stage almost unplayable.
i havent had a single bug so far, been playing for about 4 hours <.<

i'd love it if they released a patch with some quality of life improvements, mostly UI related stuff. some classes need some tweaking in my opinion [playing on hard], but i don't think this ever happened in an RPG like that
Not a single major bug so far. Only thing I've noticed is the crossbow sometimes appearing on my character's belt instead of her back. No CTD. No broken quests. No typos. Game is incredibly stable so far. Steam version.

I noticed a type-o in character creation. After some stuff I've read, and an initial temptation to go against my better judgement, I'm definitely waiting for at least 1 patch, probably 2.
been playing for 3hours so far. No issues whatsoever.
8 hours on the save and the only thing I noticed thus far is an unupdated flavor description for Flames of Devotion (Says +100% damage but is +50% actuall and says so in full description). Didn't visit Raedric's stronghold yet though, seems some people had trouble with that.
played 10-15 hours, definitely noticed some typos, mainly in flavor text, item descriptions that kind of thing. not a single crash, no quest bugs, honestly I think it is pretty stable. I wouldn't suggest anyone wait.
Played just over 10 hours so far. Not a single issue yet. So far the game is great. I'm loving it!
Game gets stuck during "The Queen That Was" cutscene for me about a hour in. It doesn't freeze because the character is still animated, the screen pans, and then nothing happens.

edit: bunch of people are having the same issue. No patch for it yet. Seems to be tied to framerate and possible solution is to set msaa to 0 in the console and decrease resolution.

The game at this moment has several game-breaking bugs. Read steam forums.

Those bugs are not in the CTD style, but more as (i.e.) you equip something and your stats/bonuses are completely screwed, unequipping the item won't fix the problem (probably you won't notice until it's too late).
