Did it with a Chanter, hatchet and shield mostly. Used the Persistence bow to kill dragons. Ditched dexterity, mediocre strength, 12 starting int, and then very high endurance, resolve, perception. Mostly damage chants and summoning to win.

Yeah. Just make sure you grab the 3 spirit summon tokens to screen enemies until your chants get going.

Thanks Beatrice. I've almost exclusively played the game with solo characters. Party playthroughs works quite differently, so I would have a hard time commenting. When you are solo, you do a good amount of sniping and/or pulling enemies apart from their group and moving away from their attacks, especially with a chanter, who can kill with summons and dragon thrashed and such.

There is a guy who posted some youtube videos showing how well a 6 chanter party works, although if I went with a party I'd probably want to use the pre-made characters for the role play story part of things.

A defensive-based paladin is probably who I'd pick to lead a party, but of course there may be other better strategies.
