I will assume that people who have not yet finished this quest line will stay away from this topic.





Okay, i just defeated the Adra Dragon on normal difficulty. I first encountered it at level 9 where it literally one-hitted my entire party with it's breath attack.

I returned right before i entered into the final dungeon of the game, and this time around it was remarkably easy.

After my initial defeat i searched the internet for ways of defeating the foe, and it seemed like a lot of people had troubles with it! Here's my short guide on how to defeat it on normal difficulty.
My party was:
Me (Wizard)
Eder (Fighter, maximum tankage)
Aloth (Wizard)
Durance (priest)
Hiravias (Druid)
Sagani (Ranger)

The basic tactic is to debuff the dragon with your wizards while using CC to prevent it from doing too much damage.

I had Eder and Sagani's companion melee the dragon, placed durance behind them and started spamming healing and buffs (For the entirety of the fight)

Sagani wasn't really needed, but i had her attack the dragon throughout the fight.

My two wizards kept the dragon under the effects of slicken, and other debuffs. Switching only to offensive spells once they had debuffed it as much as possible. I would recommend firewall, other than that just use whatever damage spells you've got. But the most important part is to keep him under slicken!

Hiravias spammed big AoE, mostly to kill the few random minions who would come in from the side.

I found using "Wall of Force" (5th level wizard spell) most useful during the encounter because it reliably hobbles her (she also takes less than one point of crushing damage, but that's not really the point). The Adra Dragon is pretty slow to begin with and once it is hobbled it might as well be immobile and harmless as long as you keep out of the reach of her AoE effects. Also the AI of the dragon is pretty stupid and seems to do nothing much at all once it can only creep towards the nearest enemy.

The rest is dealing with the additional enemies (depending on your difficulty level) and actually being able to hurt it.

The most straightforward way I guess it to craft as many Scrolls of Maelstrom as you can and then use them. Hobble the dragon, feed it summons and maelstrom it do death. Not exactly the most glorious way, but it actually is one that works.

Not sure how well WoF works on Path of the Damned.

Defeated it without scrolls. Just good old save&load. CC! If CC worked => Beat it with whatever you got. IF CC failed => Load Game. Nothing fancy, but oldschool :D. Reminds me about old games, like baldurs gate. When a single mistake, or just good succes of your enemy was a reason to load your saved game. :)

I mean it's obvious that you buff your own guys and debuff the foes in such boss fights, but my problem was that the dragon floored 5 out of 6 guys right when the combat started. It took me several tries until I finally managed to get a spell through. At the end I felt like a just got lucky this time. I had to try about 8 times until I finally killed the boss.

Yeah, not too difficult to figure out. I was mostly just surprised at how effective slicken was in this particular fight.
At what level did you fight it? Maybe i was just lucky, but it didn't do serious damage to my level 12 party.

Open console using the ';' key -> press Enter -> type "iroll20s" -> Press Enter -> open console again -> press Enter -> Type "God" . After it's dead, open console and type "God" again. The only tactics I found around the net for killing that thing were cheesing him to all hell, and I found a lot of the fight comes to good luck more than anything. Baaaad design. Very bad.
