Do people have any experience with the paladin class using a ranged weapon? I've just created a paladin with a war bow, and it's working surprisingly well. There's nothing stopping a paladin from using their support abilities while staying at range.

I'm wondering about attribute spreads, though. It feels like Resolve would be less useful to a paladin who doesn't head into melee. Likewise with Constitution. Then again, I'm not sure why Resolve is so recommended to paladins in the first place. They don't have easily-interruptible abilities like spellcasters do.
Take a look at the only other ranged pally build I have found on the interwebz - the author did indeed dump CON and RES to make a ranged pally focused on buffs.
Interesting. This is a rather higher level of char-op than I tend to participate in. I did originally plan to have a pistol-using paladin, but then I figured I'd rather not make another character with a slow-firing, reloading weapon. Seeing as I'm about to finish a run with a crossbow-using rogue.

And I would actually like to run a high Resolve character, to finally pass all those checks... so maybe I'll switch back to melee for this purpose.

I find ranged Paladin to be very useful the build I Saw above is nice and all but i found it odd
I went with STR / RES pumping Dex/Per is just fine honestly, There Flames and such makes shooting very powerful, And what knock ive found myself doing just fine in the game
I Do find it odd how ppl tend to have a small minded build set / Min Maxing and such,

If you wanna experiment with Paladin, I Recommend Starting as Human going with 16 str 16 res 16 Dex or Per whichever you like or try to make Dex/Per evenish, Its not the strongest build but it was my first one with Range Paladin, Have sence moved around and did a number of other builds, You can kinda leave the other stats alone till you learn how to play the guy properly.

One of my fav character builds for sure. Having the other paladin in the group for Buffs is fine if you wanna lean more towerds Damage / Res or what knock. I Find 2 Paladin buffs on differnt type of buffs / Auras and such for example super useful.
Those threads tend towards the high-op end of the spectrum, certainly. So I'm not going to worry about sticking too close to what they suggest. That said, I don't see much benefit from Resolve for a ranged paladin.
