Hola!

I have a few questions regarding the game, and whether or not I should buy it. I dislike nearly all the new games these days, and I've read how this game is like an olde CRPG, so I wonder if it would be worth it for what I like in a CRPG.

My questions:
Can I win the game without combat? Or with very limited combat?
Can I win the game by killing every single thing that moves?
Can I pick and choose party members, or am I forced to have certain party members?
Can I kill every single party member I meet?
Does the game let me explore the game world freely?
If play a dumb character, do I get dumb dialogue?
Can I kill children?
Can I be racist?
Can I be sexist towards men?
Can I be a goody two-shoes?
Does the game have dresses I can wear? Or long ladylike robes?

All the great CRPGs I played had most, if not all, of those elements, and it's what I'm looking for in a new games today.

Thanks!

> Can I win the game without combat? Or with very limited combat?

Nope, the last battle is HARD, yet is more aka BG2 (or Icewind dale) than Dragon Age Inquisition but very far from the Planescape torment approach.

HOWEVER, there are many other points in the game that dialogue CAN AFFECT the outcome.

> Can I win the game by killing every single thing that moves?

uh... not sure, probably... but there are consequence (I think)

> Can I pick and choose party members, or am I forced to have certain party members?

This is a strong point of the game, you can ignore the default NPC and generate your own party members.

> Can I kill every single party member I meet?

You has opportunity to kill members to benefit your character or just can be simple "DIE DIE DIE!"

> Does the game let me explore the game world freely?

Yep (well, you are not forced to choice which areas to explore first but you are far from an open world(

> If play a dumb character, do I get dumb dialogue?

Is not an Interplay game. ( I don't remember other company who did this)

> Can I kill children?

Well... killing children? yes... that is what you are expecting, probably not

> Can I be racist?
> Can I be sexist towards men?
> Can I be a goody two-shoes?

Yes, but the dialogues are not that polished (in comparison to Interplay's jokes) yet, you can get similar things and there are some nice dialogues (By the way, is important to mark that you are not forced to focus in one attribute to get the best outcome of the dialogues)

> Does the game have dresses I can wear? Or long ladylike robes?

There are designs similar to dresses, but if you are looking for specific things, well... is not the strong point of this game.
The game isn't 100% open world, but pretty darn close. There are a lot of areas you can travel to on the map, and you can go to all but one city-like area from the beginning. Doing so very early on will get you killed (or in very, very serious trouble), but you CAN do it.

Think you can kill just about anyone. Of course there are consequences. Others will turn hostile (like guards), and your reputation/disposition will take serious hits. But you also get a truckload of loot :D

You can pick up clothes and wear that, but it's not a big part of the game, and don't think you can buy it in shops. But you can wear what you find.

You can't win the game without combat, or even minimal combat. Though if you focus on the main story and ignore most areas and side quests, there will naturally be much less combat. But that would be a bit of a waste given all the quests and areas in the game. Of course not all quests involve combat, and there are times where you can avoid combat via dialogue, though it typically requires a high score in the 'right' attribute.

You can pick and drop all NPCs if you want, play it solo, or create your own group of adventurers.

I haven't tried, but you can probably attack all recruitable NPCs too if you want. Like with most other people in the game, you can force-attack, and then they turn hostile. Not a great deal of children in the game, but similarly, you should be able to kill them too by force attacking.

You can certainly be a goody two-shoes, although some of the quests are more of a greyscale type rather than black/white good/evil.

I wouldn't say the game overall isn't as good and satisfying as good old Baldur's Gate 1-2, but for a game with similar gameplay, it's the best we have, and it IS pretty darn good.
Hola!

Awesome! Thanks so very much for taking the time to answer! :)

I have to get it! It sounds like it has a lot of the qualities that many of the older games had that I liked! :)

About the dumb dialogues, there were a few other games that weren't from Interplay that had it! I remember Arcanum had it. I loved that one to death, it's been a long time since I played it. I have to think of the others because it's been a while.

Oh, and I could only mark one post for an answer, sorry about that Pangaea! I don't know if you care or not, but I just wanted to say that.

Anyway, thanks again to you both for taking the time to answer! I'll be getting it along with the expansions soon! :)
