Hallo! This weekend I am going to install Pillars of Eternity for the first time. Very excited, as Baldur's Gate is my Favorite Game Ever and somehow, I haven't played this one yet.

As much as I love GOG, I do not ever want to install the Galaxy app on my PC. So, I will be installing PoE1 from the "offline installation backup game installers".

Question #1:

Please see the first attached screenshot, showing the game installers. Do I only need to install the game using the first four highlighted files, the ones listed as 3.7.1.1411 in the middle column? And thusly, do I not need the patch files, crossed out in red?

Question #2:

Please see the second attached screenshot, showing the DLC installers. Is the DLC (White March I & II and other bonus packs) installed with the main game 3.7.1.1411, or do I need to install the highlighted DLC files? And if the latter, do I not need the DLC patch files, crossed out in red?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As someone else who only uses the offline installers and has also played the game (and enjoyed - you'll have a lot of fun :) ) I can tell you;

Question#1 Just download and install the files that you highlighted. The patch files are not needed if you are doing a fresh install.

Question#2 The DLC are not automatically installed with the main game files, you'll need to download only the files that you correctly highlighted.

Hope this helps - and have a great time playing the game :)

Awesome thanks! I'm gonna run a Cipher. Any advice for a newbie? Assigning starting attributes is my first quandary.

I haven't yet played a Cipher build on my playthroughs so unfortunately can't help there. Maybe a quick Google search to set you in the right direction?
