It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Since I updated from Debian 7 to Debian 8 PoE doesn't start anymore. :(
It just says:

Running Pillars of Eternity
Set current directory to /data/Pillars of Eternity/game
Found path: /data/Pillars of Eternity/game/PillarsOfEternity
Mono path[0] = '/data/Pillars of Eternity/game/PillarsOfEternity_Data/Managed'
Mono path[1] = '/data/Pillars of Eternity/game/PillarsOfEternity_Data/Mono'
Mono config path = '/data/Pillars of Eternity/game/PillarsOfEternity_Data/Mono/etc'

and stops.

The last thing it does is writing to $HOME/.config/unity3d/Player.log:

Player is already running
(Filename: Line: 438)

But that is not the case. I couldn't find any stray lock-files either.
It seems it scans through /proc to find all running programs. And of course it finds itself. Once.
(It may be a Unity-problem, but KSP works e.g.)

The same problem was reported on Wasteland 2 (another CRPG using Unity) by someone else here : http://www.gog.com/forum/wasteland_series/wasteland_2_linux_mint_171_startsh_not_starting_the_game it seems a reboot fixed it for him.

Also he said something about Chromium interfering with Unity, are you running Chromium ?

If those clues don't allow you to solve the problem, trying running a "strace -s 200 -f ./start.sh 2> strace.log" and then send the (warning, can be big) strace.log file here, so I can try to figure out how Unity identifies that something is already running and what bothers it.

Not Chromium but Chrome. And yes that's it.

A reboot was not necessary. Restarting Chrome was enough. IT Crowd light ^^

I wonder what the real reason for this is...
