I'm really sick of not receiving notifications of updates for PoE

I've sent support tickets a couple times and I feel like I'm talking in a loop to someone who doesn't get the issue with responses like "we do notify you" essentially.

really fucking infuriating, especially since I PRE-ORDERDED A $$$$ VERSION (it was a gift actually, but one I guided)

it makes me want to never pre-order games because I'm afraid I won't get updates

The last 3 GOG updates were 11 July, 2016, 8 November, 2016 and 25 November, 2016. Are you saying you've never checked your account shelf for 7-8 months? If that's not the issue (pre-order?) then what the hell are you talking about?

No I'm saying I never got any of those notifications to know there were updates.

I've never gotten a single update notification for PoE or WL2. It's annoying, especially since I've contacted them multiple times about it and they haven't fixed it.

Never got them how? E-mail? I'm confused. Even the sticky changelog in this very forum tells you there's been updates. I got them through the usual game update on the account tab.

I don't understand what is so hard to understand. It's driving me nuts.

how do YOU get notifications that there's been an update/patch for a game????

for me, typically, there is a "1" next to my "account" tab on the "library" tab

and then I go to the library and it says ###games / 1 updated

and then I click the "updated" and it takes me to the updated game, and there's a blue dot and then after I update the blue dot and /1 updated disappears

you follow all of that right?????

I have to divine it. Or guess. Or just go check (which apparently I hadn't in 3 patches!) I have go "oh yeah right! I don't get notifications about this game being updated! I should go check for a patch...holy shit! there's been 3 patches!!!"

I've contacted support at least twice but I think 3 times saying "hey something is wrong with notifications for me for PoE - I'm not getting them"

and each time the response has been "but we're putting them there!" essentially - nope, not for my account it's not working, never has

Quite. Totally unclear. The keyword "receive/ing" suggests you are/were expecting personalised delivery, ie. via e-mail, PM or similar. *You* do not *receive* notifications via the web interface, they are displayed for all and sundry. Had you said "I don't see notifications on the account tab", all would have been crystal clear. I even specifically asked you: "Never got them how? E-mail?"

to me "seeing" isn't as articulate

If it makes you feel any better, I understood exactly what you meant from your very first post.

We all know what notifications are. We all know that they that don't always show up 100% of the time when a game updates.

BTW, he's not a troll, he genuinely tries to help people. It's just his modus operandi to make them feel like stupid pieces of shit while he does so. Battle with the bulldog at your own peril.

That being said, you clearly made this thread just to rant and rave, and now you've done so... Regarding updates, your best bet is to just regularly check your library and the game forums, where updates are often posted about. It's probably not a problem specific to your account.

If that's what you think, you know nothing.

I'm not saying that's your intention. I'm just saying that's what happens. How many people have to go from being reasonable to flipping out before you suspect it might be the way you talk to them?
