Hello all,

I just go this game, 2 days ago.

I haven't played an RPG in years (except Witcher 2) and just wanted some advice.

I am rolling a Male Fire Goodlike Barbarian, which imo is bad ass - love the look and original character design.

Anyway, I am only an hour into the game and just wanted some advice.

I am trying to explore everywhere and interact with everyone I can.

What weapons should I use, two one handed or one two handed?

What stats should I focus on? What should I sell and what should I keep?

Just general advice as I am getting into the game as I don't want to get 5 hours in and be doing really poorly as I have the wrong stat focused character and items.

Thanks for your advice all.

FFP
Depends on your preference, both two weapons and 2H weapons are viable and good so you can't go wrong anyway.
My warrior has 2H and my paladin duel-wield, both work :)

Personaliy I don't sell anything that has to do with crafting, besides you'll get a lot of money anyway in the game.

They built the game that you can't pick 'wrong' stat. my paladin has 9 might but I still do damage ;)

In my opinion, on your first run in the game just play whatever you feel is right for you, don't worry about doing mistakes, the game is not that hard anyway if you use the right tactic in combat (frontlines in the front, range on backline).

I ferofce YrdenNerf opinion, the barbarian should be useful for a first game for "Infinity" games, plus you can experiment with all the way to fight without restriction (you can have mages with heavy armor).
Well that does sound fun!

Would you say it is worth reading everything I can and going through all dialogue options for all the intractable characters?

I find some of them really interesting and some a little pointless, like the Soul's stories, they can be one or another.

You can avoid the golden NPC (the soul's stories) as they were added as plus for the people who support the game with more than 1,000 USD 2 years ago. They share their histories but are not part of the game, so those are totally optional.

Similar will be with the memories in the cemeteries, this a joke that is coming since Baldurs Gate 1, but this time has been a big success and greater numbers (Well if you avoid paranoids of the censorship).

Other thing, with the conversation on those game, usually has re-playibility, with the default meta-data info, you will be able to see if you could have other options accord to other races, classes, origins or attributes (Though you can disable this for be like the original games).

And be careful, sometime some dialogues will bring consequences.

One last thing, read your journal from time to time.
What do you mean about the memories in the cemeteries being a joke?
They are written by backers, so you can just avoid them since they add nothing to the game
