Hi

I've downloaded Patch 2.0 (which corresponds to official Patch 5)
When I try to install it, I locate the directory where the game is and get this error:
ERROR: Folder doesn't contain any game

The file it's trying to open is: Pillars of Eternity/gameinfo
..which is indeed not there.

The files in the Pillars of Eternity directory are:
docs game start.sh support

When I start up Pillars of Eternity I see I have v1.0.6.0591

So, will the patch not work for that version? I see some mention of this issue in the "[Linux] Unofficial patches" discussion.

They mention a gameinfo file that looks like this:
Pillars of Eternity
2.5.0.8
1.0.6-hotfix

Is there a way to construct one for my version of PoE or do I need to download 6.7GB again for the sake of a few bytes?

GOG: it's also really frustrating that people have to open their chrome developer tools and read the AJAX error response to figure out why they can't post something. I'm sure a lot of people are trying to post links and just giving up in frustration. Please fix your website!

I used that gameinfo file and the patch seemed to install, but the version number in the menu is still v1.0.6.0591.
So now I'm busy downloading the 6.7GB again.
Same here. I'm unable to install patch 2.0 on Xubuntu - same error msg as in the first post.
Not sure if this is particularly helpful, but I think there's some hope for the future. I had to download the entire game. Instead of a .tar.gz file it came as a shell script. The script walks you through an installation process similar to what gog has on windows (not sure if 2.0 is the first to offer this for linux). When I tried to install the 2.01 patch today it worked like a charm. My guess is that 2.0 on will have this format for linux users.
This is my observations, but; It would seem GoG has released an actual installer for the game, in the form of a .sh script. Try redownloading it, setting it's permissions to read/write, and executing it (I typed it's file path into the terminal) Do not run it with sudo, at least in my experience it actually told me the file didn't exist. If you look on your game page for POE, the version number for the game itself (Not the patches) is 2.01, which is the latest patch. Hope this helps ^^
