Hello,

I've been trying for a few hours since last night to get the installer for PoE to work. It usually takes 15-20 minutes to get to 90% then the process goes idle. I've checked my firewall, everything seems to be in order (nothing is blocking access to the installer), my anti-virus has been turned off before I installed the first time as well.

I've also attempted a safe mode reboot of my computer, and tried the installation through that only to get the same result. I've seen in some forums that people have upgraded to Windows 8 then it works for them, though I'm not sure why that would be a solution.

I let the installer hang around for 30 minutes when it reaches 90% each time, thinking I may be impatient with it. My last attempt was at 3 AM, I let the installer run again and went to sleep only to wake up to the 90% screen yet again.

Is this game just not compatible with Windows 7? It's worked on my laptop before, but that laptop is used strictly for work now. Any advice on how to handle this situation would be awesome.

EDIT:

I've used the GOG downloader, but I also manually downloaded the game files from the account game collection parts 1, 2, 3. I haven't downloaded the patch file with them. I downloaded the files to a specific folder on my drive and ran the setup from there. I'm including this information if it may be needed.
