Trying to decide where to get choose for my PoE2 FIG key. In general I tend to redeem my crowdfunded games on Steam because updates come quickly there (for better or worse).

I've largely stuck with getting older stuff here and newer stuff on Steam, however I'm wondering has it changed enough with Galaxy that updates follow closely with their release on Steam, or is there still a couple to a few days lag?

Actually, GOG supports beta patches as well and supported them with PoE 1 too. GOG was usually a bit late, although in my experience in the matter of hours rather than days.

Well, with the previous title I had to wait over the weekend to get the patch once or twice. I activated the key since I like drm free releases but it would definitely be more convenient to activate the key on Steam.

Yes, with Galaxy the beta channels can be unlocked just like with Steam. Galaxy functions much like Steamworks in terms of game devs shunting their beta and final patches directly into Galaxy--except with Galaxy there never is DRM and as I said you get to keep your installable game copy as well, if you want it. I don't see much of a difference, except with GOG you get a fully installable copy of your game to store on disk or elsewhere for your games collections--which steam does not supply.
