I've not restored it yet, but the manual said that the upgrade only added bonuses for resting there.
How do I rest in my non-restored keep house?

There's a bed that you can interact with. Use it to rest.

It's the northern room in the first floor (not the ground floor), of the small building on the left of the keep entrance.

The top floor can be accessed only after restoring the building.
