I know that a steam version of the hotfix was released yesterday (sunday 4/5/2015), but does anyone know how long it is going to take for the hotfix to be available on gog? I REALLY want my rogue to be able pick locks again :)
No one knows! But Obsidian is already working on 1.04 and it might come out at the end of this week! http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/71830-pillars-of-eternity-support-faq/ These guys never stop working, wow. So something is happening this week, one way or the other.
Quote from Brandon Adler, Obsidian dev:

1.03 Hotfix: Doors not opening due to Fog of War

"Hey, everyone. We just put out another hotfix on Steam for an issue where some people were running into doors that wouldn't open after they had been manually closed. It didn't affect many areas in the game, but we wanted to make sure we fixed this in case some people got trapped.

The problem had to do with a bug in the hotfix calculations. It was causing some areas to think they were still under the Fog of War when they weren't.

Please let us know if you see any other problems like this.

This hotfix has been submitted to GOG and Origin, so we hope they will be up in the next day or two.

Thanks!

Brandon"
So now we are waiting for the hotfix of the hotfix? Heh.
I get a distinct feeling that GOG, Origin and UPlay might end up releasing the 1.04 patch, skipping the hotfixes.

But, rofl...hotfix to hotfix....Because rushing the 1.3 and the first hotfix without proper testing was a great idea at Obsidian. But again, seeing how people were acting, can't blame them

Obsidian QA might not be the best but trying to give us fixes as fast as possible is good to avoid players giving up due to game breaking bugs
Yeah, but due to rushing they break something else in the process...So i'd rather take a break and wait for a proper patch, then having a hotfix to hotfix to patch....Like i said... my backlog is decent and i do have plenty of stuff to play (like Xenonauts and Legend of Grimrock 2, plus the newest Thief game, which i barely started)
I just want to be able to use my rogue properly on my first playthrough. Having to tab out during what has been a remarkable session taking me all the way back to the feeling of playing Baldurs Gate as a kid, just to find information on what seemed to be a bug.. is a bit sad.

I really hope I don't have to go through the hassle of trying to get my money back because I have to wait an extended period of time.
Which brings me to a question; can you use other patches for the game, or do they have to be by GOG?

You could probably grab the pirate patches floating around. From what i read they work on the GOG version. But, personally won't test that. Plus, there is the 1.04 patch coming this week. I'm a patient bear with a backlog:P

They probably work, but will give you an error the next time you try to use an official GoG patch, so you'd need to copy your game files before applying the pirated patch then revert back to those before the next GoG patch would work.
Any news on the Hotfix ?

So it has :)
Kickstarter foks won't get an update notification in their library but the hotfix appears to be there as an updated patch from what I had. Applying it now.

Has it been uploaded on gog? I'm still just seeing the first patch or are you'll talking about somewhere else?
