Hello fellow Debian users, Ubuntu lovers and Mint freaks!

Here you’ll find scripts allowing you to build .deb packages from your MojoSetup installers (.sh) for Pillars of Eternity & The White March. You can install them through DPKG and remove them through any APT front-end (apt-get, aptitude, synaptic, etc.).

De nouveaux scripts ont été publiés pour la version 3.02.1008 de PoE récemment mise en ligne.

Les installeurs actuellement gérés sont les suivants :

I mean this stuff is supposed to be supported on linux do we install all our game as hard??? please reply thx!

I’ll try to explain it here again, please tell me if something is still hard to understand ;-)

1. Put in a same directory the installer of the game (gog_pillars_of_eternity_2.12.0.16.sh) and the scripts you can download from my website (play-pillars-of-eternity_gog-2.12.0.16.sh & play-anything.sh).

2. Open a console in this directory, and check that every needed file is here with the command 'ls'.

3. From this directory, run the following command to start the package building process: 4. Wait a couple minutes… When the building ends, it will give you a command to install the packages (starting with 'dpkg -i …'). Copy-paste this command in a root console, or in a user console by prefixing it by 'sudo' (so it should start by 'sudo dpkg -i …').

5. Done ;-) Just run the game from the newly added menu entry.

If you get any error while following these instructions, please copy-paste here the full contents of your console and I’ll help you work around it.

You need to install a couple packages before these scripts will be able to do their work.
These packages are: fakeroot, unzip & realpath

Cool thx alot it's working now :) any chance i can install patches later in the same way ?

I haven’t tried to apply GOG patches on a version installed via my scripts, and didn’t try to package them. But I build custom patches that can be applied on the version installed via ./play.it scripts:
