Hey all.
I wanted to finally play the White March (I+II, waited for the second part), patched up to the latest version.
Thing is, I didn't install the game on my desktop PC, where I'm now playing it, but on my laptop. But when I was fed up with it's shitty performance (only IntelHD IGP), I copied the game to my PC. Works fine so far, only I can't install the latest patches now. When I start the patch installer or White March pt2 installer, I always get the error: game not found.
It's quite probable that this is due to the fact I didn't install the game properly. Anyone have an Idea what I can do apart from redownloading and reinstalling everything?

I take it redownloading/reinstalling the game is not an option?

It is... I only wanted to avoid it, since I have all the patch files.

All right, I can't for the life of me figure out where do GOG installer store info on installed games (or at least PoE), so let's try something else: Download Galaxy (you can also discover their vision if you're so inclined). Before you tell me you hate clients or anything, don't worry, you can uninstall it when we're done. Okay, so download Galaxy, install it and log into it. Now, on the left side of the screen, you'll see a big, grey bar and and at its top, a search field and a big + button. Click the button and select "Scan and import folders" - choose the folder in which Pillars of Eternity folder resides (don't choose Pillars of Eternity folder itself - it might work, but I don't think it would.)

Now, after some time processing, Pillars of Eternity (and any other GOG games Galaxy found) should be added to the games list on the left bar. Click it, click the 'More' button in the main window, 'Manage' and 'Verify/Repair'. This should re-take any steps necessary to install the game on your system, figure out the games version and download required patches. Whether the resulting download won't be as large as the entire installation of Pillars is anyone's guess since Galaxy tend to make patches somewhat bloated. Anyway, you can uninstall the Galaxy client now and just launch the game via its .exe. Oh and back up your saved files before you do all that.

Good idea, I think I even have Galaxy installed, even if I don't use it. I'll report later if it worked. :)
Hm, the patches still don't work. But the Galaxy client seems to be willing to update my game, so I'll try that.
At least the installer of White march pt 2 works now, so I saved at least some GB of downloads. Thanks for the help.
