This isn't working for me, when I change the exe to 1920x1080 exe, the game runs & looks great but the tools panel is all screwed up & unclickable. Any ideas?

superproudone: Is anyone using the 1600X900 patch? For the most part it works fine for me but I can't use the overlays. if i click the overlays button the toolbar icons freeze. Anyone else having similar trouble or know of a solution? thanks.

Literacy: You're clicking the wrong button. Click on the actual text for "Overlays" and not the little green button. The green button locks out the menu and creates a little dropdown in the top middle of your screen. Its weird.
Thanks Literacy much internet love for you my friend!
Nevermind my earlier comment.

Works like a charm.

Awesome job!

Anyone know if there's a fixed version to clear up image inconsistencies and the broken sidebar in Pharaoh yet ? WSGF.org doesn't have any indications that those bugs have been fixed, it would be useful if someone could provide a tool that can allow me to hex edit and what needs hex editing to fix the broken images.

I haven't had any problems w/ a broken sidebar so far. The image inconsistencies isn't too much of a game breaker for me since I used WSGF.org's 1920 x 1080 format for both GOG versions of Pharaoh/Cleopatra & Zeus/Poseidon. Working around overwriting inconsistencies with the .exe files, Pharaoh/Cleopatra looks real nice w/ my 1920 x 1080 widescreen.

Then you obviously haven't looked at the sidebar properly. It does not stretch the full length of the screen, there's just a big black empty nothing which glitches up all the time. >_>
I just get a black screen when i pick 1024x768 in game. Any suggestions?
Glad I checked this forum. I was playing recently and thought it would be great to use a better resolution patch. Will give it a try!
I've tried a couple of them and it certainly looks nice at 1920 native res, but none of the animations on any of the buildings/farms are working with any version of the widescreen patch, making it impossible to tell which of them are actually functioning.

Yes, I used the Cleopatra version and I extracted them with 7z. Any ideas?

Update: Actually strike that, the animations aren't working with the regular GOG exe. Strange I installed it and played it a bit and I remember everything looking perfectly normal, and it wasn't until I tried the widescreen patches that I noticed the missing building/farm animations. But now I'm seeing same thing with the GOG executable back in place.

Do the buildings that are meant to have animations have ALL required raw materials for them to function ? In the case of Brickworks, you need Straw and Clay to make bricks. If you don't have all required materials to make the finished product, the building will not do anything, even if it has a full supply of workers. Right click the problematic building and check to see if it's wanting something. I never have the issue with building animations not working so most likely you haven't supplied the building with the required materials.

I should have mentioned I've played this game eleventy zillion hours in the past along with Caesar 3. So yes, they're functioning, but the penants never show up on police/fire/architect stations and the guys in buildings that are animated to show they're working are either not there or frozen, although the buildings function normally. You just have a very hard time telling whether they are by looking at them.

Update: reinstalled and same deal. Going to take this to another thread since it's not about the widescreen patch anymore.

Wow - played this game on and off for 14 years and this is stunning.
Widescreen works great but I haven't played much so stability may still be an issue.
Hmmm, doesn't appear to work inside a wrapper (OSX). Tried the 1440x900 from cleopatra.7z but I just get a black screen when selecting 1024x768. Too bad :(. Thanks for the tip though, might try it on my Windows system later.

If you get a black screen, your graphics card drivers do not support the resolution you have selected. If it's a pre-built PC that you bought from a shop, rather than a custom build, most likely the manufacturer has modified the drivers on your GPU to remove certain resolutions from the system.
