In future, please don't make the same thread twice, keep your questions to a single discussion, instead of making two threads about the same topic, it's not very useful.

Just delete roads if they are in the way. Roads can be cleared like any other placeable item and they can be reworked to whatever needs you need. The same goes for buildings or other obstructions. If you have to build monuments in any mission, single player or custom, always leave space for them so that they can be built, don't simply build housing blocks all over the map as that will cause you problems.

However, I should warn you that the majority of the custom missions are generally meant for people who know how to play the game to a degree. Some of them are incredibly difficult and need expert play skills to complete them. Be aware of this if you plan to play future custom maps.

First of all thank you for your reply!
secondly, my browser messed up and said it hadn't posted the first so as I couldn't 've bothered to 're write everything I made a much more condensed version hence the second post. it was only after I noticed the original had posted and I didn't see how to delete it so I do apologize.....

The road in question is a kingdom road, I didn't know these could be deleted? I will give it a go when I can next sink many hours into the game.... Also I appreciate your concern on my competence ;) but I'm pretty sure I'll be okay playing these custom games.....

I just wanted to make sure you were aware ;)

It's called a kingdom road simply to refer to the hidden entry/exit point. Almost all maps include a road joining these hidden markers together, but the Kingdom Road is literally like any other placed road: it can be removed. In a lot of my save games, the kingdom road is removed or reworked so it better accommodates the city.

The only thing you can't do is create a block that prevents the two points from interacting with each other (aka, you can't put the exit point behind a wall of non-removable rocks with no way to reach the exit).
