Did anyone made it run under Wine?
When I do so, it starts, brings the sound & video, but the game menu screen is black with sound in background.

in winehq.org the "normal" pharaoh versions seem to run.
I tried some different settings - no go...

I did run it without problem, but I did not really play it (I played Zeus instead, which runs fine).

wine --version = wine-1.3.28
lsb_release -a = Ubuntu 11.10

Have you tried changing resolution using the F6,7 keys, and/or playing with the virtual desktop setting in Wine ?

Zeus installed fine for me and plays with no problem using Wine and Ubuntu 13.04. For some reason though, I cannot get Pharaoh to even install This is what I am getting. I get a virtually identical error when trying to install Civ 3. I'm new to Ubuntu, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
