I recently bought this game, since I have mad Nostalgia for this game.
When starting it up the game lagged horribly right from the get go. In the TItle Screen where the game asks you to click anywhere to get into the game it took about 2 seconds after my click to show the next screen. Hovering the mouse over an option registered about 2 seconds too late and if i want to select something I sometimes even ahve to hold my mouse button for it to register.

I tried different compability modes, turning on and off Vsync in the nvidia settings, Starting up the game painstakingly to cahnge the Graphic options ingame (no results).

Couldn't find a similar problem searching the internet in google aswell so I hope someone can help me with this.
