Hi there friends,
I see this has been brought up before, but the marked solution wasn't an option for me (using your primary monitor; I only have one).
Pretty basic issue - the cinematics can be heard, but not seen, instead presenting flat blackness.
Toying around with the resolution, to my surprise, changed nothing.
Running Windows 7 64x. The rest of the game works just fine on all supported resolutions. (Windowed mode is not supported for whatever reason, but this isn't a big issue).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
UPDATE: Curiously, when downloading several .dll files into the Pharaoh + Cleopatra folder, the cinematics run but the game will only support 640 x 480 resolution; anything above this and the screen will simply go black, like the original problem.
Progress for those who don't mind this resolution, but still not desirable due to the extreme-extreme-extreme close-up of this particular resolution. 800 x 600 and up are much more convenient.
The files are wined3d.dll, libwine.dll and ddraw.dll
